Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM's Data & AI team at the India Software Labs is on the lookout for enthusiastic and talented software developers. Our portfolio includes market-leading products such as WatsonX, Cloud Pak for Data/Integration, DB2, OpenPages, SPSS Analytics, Information Governance, and Netezza, among others.

As a Software Developer at IBM, you will be at the heart of our strategic initiatives, designing, coding, testing, and delivering industry-leading solutions that make a tangible impact on the world. From ensuring that planes and trains run on schedule to securing bank transactions, the work you do will keep the world moving smoothly. Whether you're working on internal projects or client-facing solutions, software development is key to IBM's and our clients' success globally.

Your responsibilities will include:

Design and Development: Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain database features in our products and services, ensuring a secure environment for customer use in the cloud.

Technology Evaluation: Evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance our service capabilities.

Mentorship and Documentation: Document your experiences and share your knowledge, mentoring others within the team.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in software programming languages such as Java, C, C++, Go, or Scala.

Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem determination and resolution skills.

Software Development Best Practices: Exposure to best practices in the design, development, and testing of software.

Database Knowledge: Familiarity with SQL databases such as Db2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.

Virtualization and Containerization: Understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies.

Docker and Kubernetes: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes frameworks.

Cloud Services: Development experience with cloud services like IBM Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.

Operating Systems: Proficiency with Linux/UNIX operating systems.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Scripting Languages: Familiarity with shell scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, or Ruby.
